What is the Moonstone?

It is one of the minerals bearing "feldspar" numbers (derived from the Swedish fjäll = "mountain"). India, Brazil and especially Sri Lanka are some of the richest sources from which this stone is mined. An interesting fact about the Moonstone that makes us love it even more is the way it is procured. There are no large, mechanized mines in the world for the extraction of this mineral. Each specimen, from small to large, comes from artisanal mining. In other words, nature does not suffer, and people in disadvantaged areas can benefit from this stone.

To bring out the natural beauty of this stone, an artisan must be well trained before shaping the raw mineral. That magical glow that we adore is created by the way the elements that make up the stone are layered. The Moonstone can only reveal its beauty when it is oriented in an optimal position.

How to wear the Moonstone?

When you wear Moonstone jewelry you feel truly magical. Once in your hands, you won't be able to take your eyes off this piece of moon that looks like it was brought by the fairies. Moonstone is a subtle choice for jewelry, unlike other somewhat bolder stones. However, her beauty does not suffer. On the contrary, it is accentuated by the pale color, whiteness.

No matter the season, occasion or color palette, there is sure to be a Moonstone piece somewhere that will live up to your expectations. Set in silver, yellow or rose gold, this stone can effortlessly complete an everyday look. Of course, she can also take on a challenge with that special outfit that you don't get to pull out of your closet as often as you'd like.

Curiosities…

Its almost enchanted way of reflecting light has given this stone a special term. Its luster is called "adularescence". Even though it looks similar, labradorite does not benefit from the same kind of play of light and color, which is called "labradorescence".

One thing common to Moonstone but unusual to us is that inclusions in this stone are actually a good sign! Small marks, which at first glance appear to be defects, are naturally found inside any stone. All this shows us that our gem has a natural stone, which has not been manufactured or manipulated by man in any way.
