The Care Guide

Our jewelry is handcrafted using the finest, ethically sourced materials and designed for everyday wear. We put a lot of consideration into the materials we use. Our pieces are made to withstand real life, and with proper jewelry cleaning, they will continue to shine.

Wondering what material your piece is made of? All our 14k gold jewelry is stamped with "14K" or "585", except for our Bold Chain Ring and Thin Chain Ring. All of our sterling silver and 18k gold vermeil pieces are stamped with "925" due to their sterling silver core.

14k Solid Gold

Solid gold is a precious metal that will not oxidize or discolor. The 14k alloy gives our pieces their beautiful, subtle hue. 14k solid gold is also an active lifestyle's best friend: it scratches less and doesn't bend or wear out as easily as 18k. Our 14k white gold jewelry is finished with rhodium plating for extra shine and durability.

To ensure a positive impact on both the environment and local communities, 40% of our 14k pieces are made with certified recycled gold and 60% with responsibly mined gold. All of our 14k gold pieces are stamped with "14K" or "585", except for our Bold Chain Ring and Thin Chain Ring.

HOW TO CARE FOR 14K GOLD JEWELRY:

  • To maintain the shine of your 14k solid gold piece, scrub it lightly with a soft-bristled brush using warm water and detergent-free soap.

  • Then, buff gently with a clean cloth.

  • Store your pieces in a safe, dry place when not worn to protect them from the elements of daily exposure.

Ethically Sourced Diamonds

Diamonds are one of the hardest natural substances found on earth. Our high-quality diamonds (SI 1-2 clarity) are ethically sourced from our suppliers who follow conflict-free and socially responsible practices. We only use Kimberley Process certified diamonds, and our suppliers provide System of Warranties with every order.

HOW TO CARE FOR OUR DIAMONDS:

  • Use warm water, detergent-free soap and a soft-bristled brush, rinsing the diamond and setting afterwards to ensure there is no residue.

  • Do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaners, as this can cause damage.

  • Store your diamond jewelry in a safe, dry place when not worn.

18k Gold Vermeil

How do you pronounce that? We've got you: ver- may . Not to be confused with regular gold plating, gold vermeil involves a much thicker layer of gold to give it that much more durability. We use 18k gold that is a minimum of 2.5 microns thick, as required by the Federal Trade Commission to classify vermeil, layered over sterling silver. All of our 18k gold vermeil pieces are stamped with "925".

HOW TO CARE FOR 18K GOLD VERMEIL JEWELRY:

  • Excess sweat and water? No thank you.

  • Always remove your gold vermeil jewelry before exercising, washing your hands or showering.

  • Apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing your gold vermeil pieces.

  • To clean gold vermeil jewelry, buff gently with a dry cloth.

  • You may have noticed a strip of paper, treated with anti-tarnishing agents, in your packaging. When not worn, store your piece in a safe, dry place with the strip included to protect it from the elements of daily exposure.

Freshwater Pearls

We use cultured pearls from oysters and freshwater mussels that we carefully select for our pieces.

HOW TO CARE FOR OUR FRESHWATER PEARLS:

  • Pearls are sensitive so don't forget to treat them with love.

  • Avoid direct contact with chemicals found in perfume or other cosmetics.

  • To help do so, make sure they are the last thing you put on before going out and the first thing you take off when you come home.

Natural Gemstones

We only use ethically sourced and conflict-free natural, mineral gemstones, highly valued for their beauty, longevity and rarity.

HOW TO CARE FOR OUR NATURAL GEMSTONES:

  • To keep gemstones clean and shiny, scrub lightly with a soft-bristled brush, warm water and detergent-free soap.

  • Avoid chemicals or excessive temperatures when cleaning.

  • Store in a safe, dry place when not worn to protect them from the elements of daily exposure.

Sterling Silver

925 Sterling Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. We plate our silver jewelry in rhodium, which gives it extra shine and durability. Rhodium is one of the most expensive precious metals due to its rarity. All of our sterling silver pieces are stamped with "925".

HOW TO CARE FOR STERLING SILVER JEWELRY:

  • Sterling silver jewelry will oxidize when exposed to the elements, so remove your silver jewelry before exercising, washing your hands or showering.

  • Always apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing your pieces.

  • To clean tarnished sterling silver jewelry, polish gently with a silver cloth.

  • Store in a safe, dry place when not worn to protect them from the elements of daily exposure.

Titanium

Titanium is a lightweight, highly corrosion-resistant and durable material. When properly cared for, titanium will maintain its appearance for a lifetime.

HOW TO CARE FOR TITANIUM JEWELRY:

  • Clean your titanium jewelry with warm water, detergent-free soap and a soft cloth.

  • Ultrasonic cleaners are also safe to use on titanium jewelry.

  • Since titanium is a natural element, it's best to remove your jewelry when handling harsh chemicals such as chlorine or cleaning products to reduce daily abrasions and prolong the polish.

Enamel

Enameling is a technique in which a glossy substance, traditionally a type of glass, is applied to the surface of metal or another hard surface. Traditional enamel is glass-based; however, we use cold enamel—also known as epoxy resin enamel—which does not contain glass. This type is far more durable and resistant to chipping that can sometimes occur with daily wear.

HOW TO CARE FOR ENAMEL JEWELRY:

  • Clean your enamel jewelry with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.

  • This material can be damaged if exposed to a direct flame or harsh chemicals, such as perfume and nail polish remover.

earthenware

Ceramics are an incredibly durable material made by taking mixtures of clay, earthen elements, powders and water—and shaping them into desired forms. Our ceramics are covered and/or protected with a waterproof, paint-like substance known as a glaze.

HOW TO CARE FOR CERAMIC JEWELRY:

  • Clean your ceramic jewelry with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.

  • This material can be damaged if exposed to a direct flame or harsh chemicals, such as perfume and nail polish remover.

  • Ceramic may scratch, so treat your pieces with care.

FAQ

How do I keep my jewelry looking its best?

The polishing cloths included in each order are made of 100% cotton and have been treated with an anti-tarnish agent. To get the best results, simply buff your 14k solid gold, 18k gold vermeil, titanium, or sterling silver pieces until any imperfections or marks are no longer visible. Do not use the polishing cloth on oxidized silver pieces or directly on delicate gemstones, hard gemstones or pearls.

Always wash your hands after use and keep the cloth out of the reach of children. Never wash the polishing cloth, as it will lose its effectiveness.
